"ED visit for broken leg"

About: Princess Alexandra Hospital / Emergency Department Princess Alexandra Hospital / Physiotherapy

(as a parent/guardian),

I came in recently with my adult son who had broken his leg when he slipped boxing. The staff at emergency were great. Everyone from the triage nurse, the people at the desk, the physio, staff organising X-rays, the doctor and the orthopaedic surgeon were just helpful, friendly and professional. We couldn't believe that we saw the doctor, got 3 different sets of X-rays, saw the physio, got a cast and then met with the orthopaedic surgeon in 4 hours. Pretty amazing. The physio really helped us with some extra information and explanation and was very professional with excellent knowledge and advice. The orthopaedic surgeon was very clear and professional, with good patient interaction skills, and patiently explained everything. The only bad thing was the reason we were there... the broken leg. We have needed to come in a few times to the PA and the experience has always been positive, with professional service. We were grateful for the good experience.
