I attended Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital recently for genicular nerve block in both knees. From the moment I was met until I left, I was treated with friendliness, kindness, and absolutely faultless care and attention!
Everything was explained to me each step of the way and it was a very calm, cheerful atmosphere around the area!
From my bed, I was able to see the staff move around and attend to the needs of all the patients as they went for treatment and returned and everyone was treated in a most caring professional manner!
I was very impressed with the attention to hygiene by the staff too - hand sanitation by each and every staff member in between patients and/or desk duties! As having had post-op MRSA four times and not being a carrier, (never in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital) this 'automatic' action by the staff really made a welcoming sight!
I was greeted warmly in the procedure room and found the murals on the ceiling and wall a very interesting and enjoyable sight! My sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Dr Vincenzo, his young assistant, Heather, Bronwyn, Natalie, Joy and Peter! Peter is a very caring gentleman; I could see the kitchen way down the corridor and whilst waiting my turn watched as he walked back and forth with a lovingly made cuppa for a post-procedure patient. When it was my turn, he made it just the way I love a good cup of tea! All his work with a happy disposition!
