"Husbands problem with falls"

About: Allied Health (Bass Coast Health) Bass Coast Health

(as a relative),

My husband acquired Alzheimer's/Dementia about 3 years ago along with other mental health problems. He has become very weak in the body. After a bed fall he was taken by ambulance to Wonthaggi Hospital when the physiotherapist suggested and referred him to the Falls course at San Remo. He attended the first 3 sessions and then by simple bad luck and/or bad planning he missed the following sessions. The sessions he did attend along with the people who were running them were absolutely first class and my husband enjoyed going to them.   We did all agree though that the course wasn't really relevant to my husband's problems - his mental difficulties worked against his ability to comprehend and practice what each session was about. Nothing wrong with the course, just not completely suitable to his problems. However the course was very well planned and executed. Staff were wonderful, understanding, kind and professional.
