Recently my husband felt 'unwell' and considering his history, and after a phone call to our local GP, we were advised to attend Geraldton Regional Hospital. As his current condition was symptomatic of his heart condition and history, we were taken immediately through to 'resus' and he was assessed. The first doctor was from Perth and, under the direction of the senior doctor on duty, they were both polite, responsive to information given, and kept us informed of their investigations. ECG, bloods for Troponin levels, X-rays were all found to be satisfactory. After a number of hours, he was discharged. All nursing staff and doctors treated us professionally, politely and appropriately. Our nurse even found the time (when there was a lull) to fetch me a cup of tea which was most appreciated. Well done to all staff concerned.
As an active member of the community it was great to see the staff operate from a different angle.
