Recently I underwent surgery (hysterectomy) at Ipswich Hospital. I was on the gynecology/maternity ward and I stayed until lunchtime the following day.
This was my first time as an overnight patient in any hospital and my first major surgical procedure, so I was really nervous and didn’t know what to expect.
I would like to thank the three nurses that were looking after me, sorry I have forgotten their names. What a credit they are to the nursing profession. I would not be able to find one minor fault in the work that they had to do or the way in which it was carried out. In particular the first nurse I had, she was efficient, proficient, kept cool under pressure, explained things to me in a way I could understand and a very pleasant woman, as were the other nurses. I know that the nurses on that ward would have been under the pump as there were hardly any empty beds, if any, but I truly felt very safe and well looked after. The cleaning staff and the food/drinks staff were fantastic too, they seemed to go out of their way to be personable and do their demanding jobs extremely well.
I also felt that all of the other staff (outside and in the operating theatre) that I came across did an amazing job.
Once again, I simply couldn't even make up a fault with the people who work at Ipswich Hospital. I can’t say thank you, it seems very inadequate. Please everyone at the hospital have a beautiful and safe Christmas.
Would you mind passing this on for me?
