The requirement for patients to travel down to the hospitals pre-admission clinic prior to treatment is quite unrealistic. It takes 5 hours for various doctors to pass you for any surgery. For regional patients this requires long travel times an hotel accommodation and various forms of transportation. I had two operations two weeks apart and still had to undergo the prolonged pre-admission wait each time. I believe this is completely unnecessary and fatiguing.
