About: Box Hill Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I was admitted as a patient due to being very unwell.

I was looked after by a nurse (Ben).

Ben was so respectful, considerate, caring and very professional.

I was really impressed and touched when Ben asked me if I would prefer to have a female nurse to attach the ECG leads on me.

I thought that was wonderful that he had considered my dignity.

I felt that the team at BHH ED department acted in a professional, caring and respectful manner and certainly made me feel so much at ease.

I currently work at a hospital myself, and whilst waiting to be seen in the triage department and also once I was admitted as a patient I was able to see exactly how the ED department ran during this very busy afternoon and everyone worked together to ensure that their patients were getting a great experience.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide your positive comments about your experience when attending the Box Hill Hospital Emergency Department.

Many thanks for taking the time to specifically comment on the effect Ben had to make your experience as positive as possible along with the clear teamwork of the whole team.

Attending an Emergency Department can be a difficult and stressful time and hearing of Ben's specific actions clearly shows he places the Patient First. 'Patient First' is one of the Eastern Health values, so Ben is clearly living this one!

I hope you have recovered from whatever brought you to the Emergency Department and I will make sure Ben and his manager receive your comments.
