(as a carer),

My husband attended the ED at SCGH last night ( Christmas Eve) with a suspected DVT post  varicose vein surgery two weeks ago. 

We were impressed with the mostly young and helpful staff we saw there who from triage to the Registrar acted quickly to assess the risk, were professional, and knowledgeable.

Thank you for being so thoughtful and caring. We appreciate your kind gift of  peace of mind this Christmas Day,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Having to take a loved one to an Emergency Department (ED) at any time, but particularly on Christmas Eve, can be very stressful.

I am heartened to hear that the SCGH ED staff were able to assess and treat your husband quickly. The professional and knowledgeable care that you refer to in your story is a good example of how our staff live up to the SCGH motto “We put patients first”.

I will share your appreciation with the ED staff.
