"Child with possible fracture"

About: Sale Hospital

(as a parent/guardian),

I presented to ED recently with my child who I suspected had a possible fracture to their arm. All staff we spoke to were caring and extremely professional. The junior doctor we saw was outstanding; so was the radiology team who were on call. We did not have a long wait for X-rays, and we thank you for that. It's just unfortunate there are no reports from radiology available to know the real prognosis and the awesome doctors are left trying to make decisions without the help of other professionals.

Dear Still concerned

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with your story. It will be my pleasure to provide our ED staff with your positive feedback.

I am sorry that you remain concerned about the availability of radiology reports and I would be very happy to investigate this for you, if you feel comfortable providing me with your child’s name, date of birth and the date on which your child was seen.

It is routine that all x-rays are reported on and these reports are accessible by the doctors electronically, usually within a 48 hour timeframe (or more quickly depending on the urgency).

I can be contacted on 0351438810 or mandy.pusmucans@cghs.com.au. I hope that you feel able to make contact.

With kind regards

Mandy
