"Taking blood test and inserting IV drip"

About: Maroondah Hospital

(as the patient),

I felt distress, as for more than 1 hour the nurse was not able to take blood from both my arms and hence was not able to put in an IV.   The attention and focus always seemed to be on something else.  I had an appointment.   As a result I was distressed and did not want to follow on with MRI and dye for my  procedure.

Dear porsche168

Thank you for providing your feedback on Patient Opinion regarding your experience whilst undergoing an MRI at Maroondah Hospital. Please accept my apologies that your experience was less than positive with, as you describe, numerous attempts to take blood and also that you felt the attention of the nurse was on something else.

In order to be able to investigate this further, I would encourage you to make contact with our Patient Relations Advisors in the Eastern Health Centre for Patient Experience on 1800 EASTERN. Should you choose not to make direct contact, this will be respected, however I will share your post with the Manager of the area so they can review what may have happened based on the information you have provided.

I hope you have since been able to receive your MRI and dye studies with another service and that we get the opportunity to hear from you.

Wishing you all the very best.

Kind regards

David
