"My seriously ill father"

My father was admitted following a bleed on the brain. We were told by the doctors there was nothing they could do for him so basically he would be in shared care of geriatrics and palliative. 

He was transferred to a ward into a four bedded room. Day one was fine and two  of us were able to stay with him overnight. Day two came and he deteriorated significantly. Was non-responsive, incontinent, but occasionally would wake up, get agitated and try and get out of bed. That night we were allowed one person to stay and another sit out in the waiting room. We were not allowed to have a third wait as well. 

We felt there was a distinct lack of compassion that family wanted to be with him, told there was yes single rooms available for him so more of his family could be beside him. Nowhere to discuss with doctors what the situation was besides in the middle of a corridor. No offer of simple tea/coffee making facilities etc. 

I am a healthcare worker and I am shocked and appalled at the absolute lack of compassion and empathy from staff.
