Would love to say a huge thank you to the crew at Kimberley Medical Centre. The docs there are fabulous.  In my opinion, the office staff are in dire need of proficiency training and customer service skills, but I feel that's true of all of Broome and beside the point of this.

The last year has been challenging, to put it lightly and at every turn the physicians, ultrasound tech, and gyno I saw were fabulous. They went out of their way to ensure I got the care I needed in a timely manner, even when administrators told me about extensive waiting periods. Somehow I always ended up talking to the right person and things got taken care of quickly and with kindness.

I've lived in other countries and I would easily say that my experience in Broome has been the best in doctor-patient care. The most patient-oriented doctors I've ever experienced. Australian medical care can't compare to Canada's system, but the level of care and humanity doctors here in Broome have has been one of the best parts of my time in Broome. I felt seen as a human being, and truly cared for in the hippocratic sense.

Thank you for sharing your experience on Patient Opinion. Although the Medical Centre you mention does not come under the umbrella of Western Australia County Health System (WACHS), I’m sure the message will be passed onto their team.

The overall point is, I am very grateful. I was given this website's information by a doctor at the Medical Clinic, so I assumed you and they are connected... apologies if this went to the wrong place.

I've wanted to thank you for sharing your experiences, giving useful advice about where we can improve - and Kimberley Medical Group listened and acted upon your feedback. You were right to presume that our inter-connectedness as care providers here - no matter what organisation healthcare workers are in - is good and vital.

I know that your care journey(s) took you to Broome Hospital and to Derby Hospital, that you received prompt attention and excellent care at both facilities and I commend teams there for going out of their way to meet your needs, putting you and your partner first and foremost. Phone calls, clinician awareness, wanna-help attitude and care was arranged and delivered safely. So thanks for your kind words.

We can all be encouraged that care networks and professional relationships across the Kimberley are strong. That time after time, without the voicing of effort or seeking praise, the obstacles to care are overcome (as you experienced) and the needs of patients are met promptly with compassion.

Recalling what we arranged for you makes me very proud of hospital staff, to whom I say thank you and well done for going the extra mile.
