"Over 4 hour wait without being seen"

Recently, I arrived in the Emergency Department in the early evening and left late that night without even being looked at by a doctor. This was after a 4+ hour wait in the waiting room with my screaming child suffering from a sudden onset rash. A nurse asked if my child was screaming because they were sick or because they were tired. Maybe they were screaming in pain; being a non-verbal baby there was no way of telling. More paediatric services are definitely needed in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
