I have received chemo at RPH (Royal Perth Hospital) and wish to thank the team and Dr Albert for their care. I wish to send special thanks to Jen, the Nurse Practitioner who I met at my last appointment. At the time it was a low point in chemo, I had felt so unwell and had a short stay in RPH ED - thanks team you were great. The ED was so busy and I felt for staff given the complex drug and alcohol issues they were dealing with. They were so polite and respectful with everyone and I left feeling so much better after treatment.
Following this visit I was dreading the thought of more chemo. When I met Jen I explained just how awful the side effects of the last chemo had been and how I was worried about lots of attempts to cannulate, managing side effects at home, when to worry and how I would cope with side effects, full time work and chemo.
Jen listened and talked through everything - prescribed prophylactic medication and cannulated me first time. She was kind, knowledgeable, respectful and practical. I left feeling I could keep going. Thank you Jen.
I had one issue with after hours contact number for MDU which I fed back to Jen
Thanks RPH -I am very grateful.
