Recently my partner and I needed to end our second pregnancy due to medical reasons. Unfortunately we had also lost our first baby a few months earlier halfway through that pregnancy, also due to medical reasons.
We attended KEMH and were seen by the team there, that told us the bad news and arranged for the baby to be delivered the following day.
Throughout this horrible experience the nurses, in particular Amy and Marlene were very attentive and compassionate about the situation. They treated my partner and I with respect, supported our physical and emotional needs and were willing to assist at all times (including going to theatre in the middle of the night). My partner was able to stay with me and was provided with a bed and meals so he didn't have to leave my side.
All staff we saw were very emphatic about the situation including doctors, nurses, specialist staff, pastoral care, perinatal loss. I am grateful that I was treated so well at this time - Thank you!
I hope we can have a healthy baby in the future
