"Mirikai & The Specialist Centre"

About: Lives Lived Well - Gold Coast

(as a service user),

I was a client of Mirikai and stills access the specialist centre today. I have now been out of Mirikai's oasis program for many months. I really could not speak highly enough about Lives Lived Well. They helped me transform my life in every aspect. I would like to express that I am a bit saddened to hear a lot of Mirikai's (live in) processes and the way things are run in the house are changing as the way they were is what really taught me a lot!

I appreciate how Mirikai accepted me as whole and worked with me in every sense. At times this challenged me, but I really did benefit out of it. Mirikai taught me so so much that I struggle to find the words to express my gratitude to Lives Lived Well. 

I am appreciative to all staff members, however I do want to give special thanks to Janet, Nikki, and Cliff.  Without their support I am not sure I'd be able to of finished.

Thank you for taking the time to tell your story about how Lives Lived Well, through Mirikai and The Specialist Centre, has been a critical support for you as you have negotiated big transformative changes in your life. LLW staff appreciate your comments but it is also important to acknowledge your own courage and determination in persisting day after day to make these changes part of your life. The service you received is part of the holistic care LLW offers to people who attend our services.

Since Mirikai and its program has played such an important part in your life it is very understandable that you are saddened to hear about changes to processes there. I want to acknowledge and respect your sadness. It is great you are able to voice your thoughts about this through Care Opinion and your opinion is important to us.

LLW has a culture for continuous learning and improving the quality of its services. In considering changes to its program and processes, management and staff at LLW take into account comments and feedback from clients, staff, our funding bodies and other organisations we work with. This process is followed in any major change being considered within LLW.
