"Orthopaedic Surgery at Royal Newcastle Unit of JHH.."

I was a patient at the Royal Hospital, part of John Hunter Hospital twice in the past 3 years. For a huge major hospital, this small ortho part of the larger hospital, does an excellent job. I have never met so many lovely humane surgeons! And so many great women surgeons. I hope they have stuck around.

Although a small part of an essentially massive medical complex, the Royal of JHH, managed to combine commonsense, communication and great orthopaedic works of art on little 'ol me. My second visit was far more stressful for me as I had left behind some big responsibilities at home.

Eager to get out and get back home, all the staff helped to make this happen. And the system (Hunter Area Health), provided ongoing support to achieve this. They worked with me to help me with domestic assistance for myself and my husband also in hospital with a chronic illness.

They listened to me and helped me and my family. Home invasion injuries- broken arm and shoulder replacement later on.
