"Emergency Care"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My child injured their thumb at school playing soccer. My child thought they might have broken a bone in their thumb. I took my child to Sydney Hospital/Sydney Eye Hospital, as this hospital has expertise in hand injuries. All the staff were excellent, attentive, polite and caring. They ensured my child had pain relief at the beginning of our visit. As parents we felt involved in our child's treatment. The department was very busy that afternoon, but the staff always kept us informed.

A big thank you to nurses Dani and Julie and doctors who attended to our child's care (who left with a plaster cast on). No water-polo this weekend.

Again thanks for the great care.

Dear nowaterpolo,

Thank you very much for taking time out of your day to pay gratitude to the staff in the Sydney Hospital/Sydney Eye Hospital Emergency Department. It is lovely to hear that you felt involved with your child’s care and that the staff provided person-centred care, despite the department being very busy.

The nurses and doctors in the Emergency Department have been notified of your feedback. I hope your child is now back to playing water-polo after making a full recovery.

Kind regards,

Jennie.
