Recently my elderly mother was in Broome Hospital after a dramatic fall. She has been admitted to a couple of different hospitals over the past 12 months (in Victoria) and Broome Hospital is the best one yet (her words).
Mum was in hospital for 2 weeks, having a severe drop in her mobility while she was in hospital, as a result of her fall. She was treated with such dignity throughout her stay and the thorough nature of the care was very impressive. The allied health staff and holistic care model meant she was provided with comprehensive care and we were connected to ongoing supports.
Everyone we encountered from the doctors, specialists , nursing staff and support staff explained what was happening to me and her, and demonstrated the type of humanity and quality care not experienced by us in the previous hospitals.
"Best one yet."
