"Postnatal care"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital

(as the patient),

I would like to say a big thank you to the nurse who care for me on the postnatal floor. She really cared for my baby even though she was very busy. She took the time to check on my baby and called the paeds doctor. It seemed like many of the other midwives just didn't care despite me being very concerned about my baby's health. In my opinion, some of the midwives in this  floor were very lazy and I felt had no knowledge on taking care of newborn. I was so stressed when staying there after caesarean.

Dear pavoww78,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at King Edward Memorial Hospital and your positive feedback about one of our staff.

I am sorry that not all members of the team met your expectations but I can assure you that all of our midwives are competent in the care of newborn babies. Further, I have spoken to the Midwife Co-Director and told her of your experience so that she can work with the midwives to continue to improve staff patient interactions on all wards.

Once again, thank you for bringing this matter to my attention and I hope that you are recovering well from your caesarean section and your baby is doing well.

Yours sincerely,

Graeme Boardley
