My mother has been having ongoing treatment to a ulcerated leg for some time now (many years in fact). I did come to this site originally as I believed the duty of care she received at the Geraldton Regional Hospital on an overnight stay was not acceptable. I expressed my concerns and dissatisfaction and I must say the response I received has been absolutely fabulous.
Maria took my complaint onboard and looked into the matter. I received many phone calls from Maria and sincerely apologied for the lack of duty of care while my mum was in hospital. Maria also stayed in touch and gave me a follow up and thanked me for bringing these issues to her attention, so they can be corrected, so they don't happen again. Like Maria said, if we don't get feedback how can we fix it. She assured me these issues were addressed within the hospital.
Then my mother needed to go back to emergency a second time at Geraldton Regional Hospital and was admitted into hospital. Maria rang me and updated me on her time in hospital and the care she was given. This time she was kept in hospital for 6 days and was looked after so very well by the hospital team and Dr Rob. Fabulous treatment and care to my mum during her time in the Geraldton Regional Hospital.
When she was discharged she was put under the care of hospital at home, the team at PAC's (Post Acute Care) have looked after my mother so well and my mum enjoys her visits to the hospital weekly, even though the procedures are so painful. But she feels cared for.
Thank you to Dereck and Maria (Hospital Co-ordinators) and the team at PAC's (hospital at home), you are doing an amazing job. My mum has since been to hospital for a stent in her leg and continues to be cared for by this amazing team.
What a great job you all do.
Very much appreciated and my elderly mother feels cared for and that is so special
Thank you
"Excellent Treatment to my mum at Geraldton Hospital"
