I was fortunate enough to be a part of the MGP (Midwifery Group Practice) services offered in Broome. My midwife allocated was Pam; from the very beginning of my pregnancy, I felt so confident and safe in Pam’s hands. During my pregnancy and throughout all of my home visits Pam was always so approachable, friendly and professional. Once in labour, I presented to Broome Maternity Ward to be greeted by the beautiful Alyce. Alyce calmed my nerves, did an examination and explained where we were at. She was warm, welcoming and had such a caring nature. Due to the length of my labour Pam had unfortunately worked her legal limit of hours. This resulted in Sue (also a part of the MGP) stepping in. Sue, just like Pam and Alyce was phenomenal at her job. Throughout my entire labour I felt so safe and comforted.
These three women are each so talented in their field of midwifery. Pam was beyond incredible and I feel extremely lucky to have had her by my side during this whirlwind experience. I could not fault the service I received in the Maternity Ward of Broome Hospital.
My baby and I will forever be grateful for this wonderful Maternity Ward.
