I had knee operation at Wonthaggi Hospital and cannot believe how wonderful the doctors, nurses, trainee nurses, physios, tea lady, food lady etc. were. I was in a ward with three other patients and we were a happy and lively group. The nurses and staff treated us with such kindness and joined in with us as we were just trying to cope with our new knees and hips and were in a lot of pain. I was told how bad other hospital's staff could be and as I had not stayed in a hospital for 40 years I did not know what to expect. Well, we loved the staff so much that when it was time to leave we were quite scared about being on our own at home and not having their care and attention. I think that so many hospitals have a poor reputation, that Wonthaggi Hospital should be very proud of their staff as it is an excellent hospital.
