"Food Allergy"

About: Wollongong Hospital

(as the patient),

I was admitted to Wollongong Hospital due to a severe asthma attack. During my stay of 36 hours I wasn’t provided with food. I have a dairy allergy and there is no kitchen at Wollongong Hospital. I kept being promised that next meal I would get some food, but the final straw was when dinner finally arrived and I believe the nurse was so pleased I would finally stop complaining of hunger. But the food was pasta carbonara (contains cheese and cream), a chocolate cake (contains milk, cream and butter), and pumpkin soup (contains sour cream).

I finally discharged against medical advice due to severe hunger. Then to top it off the doctor refused to provide a medical certificate and the nursing staff told me to be careful down the 7 flights of stairs as the lifts were broken.
