"Outstanding care at Fiona Stanley Hospital"

About: Fiona Stanley Hospital / Day Medicine Procedures, Day Stay & Short Stay Fiona Stanley Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Hi,

I would really like to thank your staff that were on duty when I was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital early on a Sunday morning with severe chest pain. From the time I arrived, I received the best of care. In the ED the two nurses that looked after me, Kim and Tracey, kept on reassuring with their very caring nature that I was in the right place. So between the doctor on duty Lauren who was also very caring and the two nurses, I did feel calm.

Once I was assessed and a few tests were done, I was moved to the ESSU (Emergency Short Stay Unit) where Amy and Tia, also very caring people, made me very comfortable. There was also many more behind the scene that were working hard to find out what was wrong.

After numerous tests, I was discharged feeling quite well and happy about going home. However, this was short lived as at that evening I had the worst pains in the abdomen and again it was back to the hospital. So from the triage when we arrived I was treated exceptionally well, but as with all hospitals, there was a long wait.

Once in ED, I was cared for by another group of professional staff from the doctor Andrew, who had yet more test done and reassured me that I would be okay, to the nurse Jodie, who cared for me all night. She was very caring and nothing was too much trouble for her. Again on Monday morning, I was looked after by Bernadette who took the time to explain what test I was going to have. Lastly, the Radiology Department took great care as I was very nervous about having the test done but they also took the time to explain things to me.

So summing up my experience at Fiona Stanley Hospital I have to say my care over that Sunday and Monday was second to none and hats off to all those professional people and thank you for being the people that you are.

Dear sierrapr37,

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback concerning the care you received at the Fiona Stanley Hospital Emergency Department. It must have been a very anxious time for you and I really appreciate you taking the time to write such a kind note.

I was really pleased to hear how the doctors and nurses cared for you and I have passed your kind words on to the staff in the Emergency Department and ESSU teams. Our staff work very hard to ensure that every patient is treated with care and compassion and are always very grateful to hear that this is appreciated by patients.

I hope that you are recovering well.

Kind regards

Janet Zagari
