"My Mum and Dad's experience in the ED"

(as a relative),

My Mum brought my Dad to the ED with chest pain. He was very unwell and was put in the Resuscitation Room. The nurse in charge and all the healthcare workers were very kind to my mum, explaining what they were doing and why. This really helped my mum. I am very grateful for the physical care my Dad got and the empathy, understanding and support offered to my Dad. Thank you Peel ED.

Dear Family Of Patient,

Thank you for taking the time to post your delightful comments on Patient Opinion. I am so pleased to hear that our staff took the time and patience with your mother to provide explanation and comfort at what I can only imagine to be a very stressful time for her when your dad was so unwell. While our staff encounter very sick people all the time, I love to hear that they have "put themselves in your mother's shoes" and provided support and explanation in an empathetic and compassionate manner. It is a really important part of "People Caring for People".

I will pass your kind words on to the staff in the emergency department, and I thank you again for being in touch with us through Patient Opinion.
