"About my husband"

About: Bass Coast Health Wonthaggi Hospital / Emergency Department

(as other),

My husband was taken to your ED after a fall, after x-rays and finding he had fractured his femur he was transferred to Latrobe,

Now he has been at Armitage Rehab for over a week now, I have found the staff (all of them) to be friendly, helpful, encouraging him in his rehab, transferring him for cancer treatments etc. and treatment of him and extended family to be so overwhelming.

Nothing to date has been too much trouble.

I can't thank everyone involved enough...

Dear nucsmum,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience with our Emergency Department and our sub-acute ward, Armitage. I am so pleased that your experience has been positive in what must have been a distressing time for your husband and for you. It sounds like he has had a complex journey and it is absolutely our role to make that journey as easy as we can. We have excellent staff at BCH who are very committed to serving our local community and I know they will be very chuffed by your feedback. I hope your husband progresses well.

Many Thanks,

Jan

Update posted by nucsmum (other)

Unfortunately my husband's cancer got the better of him, and he took a very sudden turn for the worse.

After much discussion with the team of doctors he was palliated, but kept at Armitage until he passed away.

Again the staff were very supportive, allowing family to sit and comfort my husband and each other.

My husband was kept comfortable, he felt no pain and was peaceful.

My husband, was treated with kindness and respect and this was also the same for family.

Words cannot express the gratitude that I feel for all the staff at Armitage House
