When I was in hospital in Fitzroy Crossing I had good care from all the staff. And having the opportunity to have my partner stay overnight with me made me feel good that it is seen as very important. I felt great that was how my partner was being respected. He didn’t have to stay most of the nights while I was admitted there. So after being in hospital and mentioning it to my sister, she thought it was a special treatment! Sometimes people feel left out or are not aware of what to expect when they come to hospital. If people come to hospital it is good to be told that a family member or carer might be able stay and rest to support the person who is sick. My partner felt special and grateful for this care he got. This is good when people arrive late at night or by the ambulance.
