"Care of my baby"

About: Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital

(as a parent/guardian),

I have a child who had a breathing problem due to a virus. I took my child to ER room at Hornsby Hospital at 1:30am. The nurse looked at my child and told me to wait so she could clean the bed. I told the nurse my child had a fever and breathing issues and my child was admitted to see a doctor last year. The doctor wrote the note, if my child has issues we can go back to the ER room. However the nurse didn't think my child was sick. My child is a toddler and I waited outside for 2 hours and wasn't offer a bed. The ER room was empty at the time.

The nurse told me an hour later the doctor would come to see my child when they are free. So I waited another hour until 4 am. The nurse told me again doctor was still busy and they couldn't give me a bed for my baby to rest. I think it's horrible. The nurse also said when my child coughed the nurse was not there, so she did not believe my child was sick. I told the nurse if I do have free time, I'd rather go to sleep instead of waiting in the ER room in the middle of night for 2 hours.

I would like to make a complaint. I believe the nurse who worked in the ER at Hornsby Hospital that night should not work there because I believe they  did not seem to care much about the patients. I do suggest the hospital should hire better a nurse to look after people and improve their service.
