About: King Edward Memorial Hospital

(as the patient),

I had a phone call from a physiotherapist at King Edward Memorial Hospital asking why I didn’t show up. I had no idea I had an appointment? No letter, no phone call? It makes me look bad! Then, I get a text message saying it’s a reminder for my appointment at King Edward Memorial Hospital on Tuesday... What appointment? At what clinic? I have no appointment for Tuesday or do I and I've not been told about it? I tried to ring the number today but it’s a long weekend and no one is there... come on King Edward, how hard is it to get the appointment system correct?

Dear Husky,

Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention. I am sorry that you have had this experience with our service and apologise for the inconvenience caused to you.

I have followed up with our Physiotherapy Department and they have been unable to identify you or the appointment referred to. I have been advised that there have been some issues with appointment letters reaching patients in a timely manner but can't explain the text message received. It would assist further investigation into your personal situation if you provided us with some additional information if you are happy to provide it.

I would appreciate it if you could contact our Customer Service Unit, refer to this story, and provide your name please. I will then have your situation investigated formally.

Once again, I apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank you for raising this issue with me.
