Last year I moved interstate to Ipswich. I was quite comfortable having both a Neurologist & Ophthalmologist on my side where I was previously located, being diagnosed with Benign Intracranial Hypertension last year, going through lumbar punctures and spending time on Diamox (500mg 4x daily) then down to (250mg 4x daily).
Upon moving to Ipswich I located a permanent GP and begged for a referral to see a Neurologist. The referral was sent to West Moreton Health Care for Ipswich Hospital, and was rejected! Out of fear I contacted my previous Neurologist and was able to lower my dosage of Diamox to (250mg 3x daily). Lately, I am having adverse reactions from being on Diamox too long and urgently need to see an Ophthalmologist & Neurologist in Ipswich or even Brisbane (willing to travel) to be weaned off medication & be formally assessed, as the GP cannot do so. I am tired of waiting! Please help me as I cannot do this alone! :(
