I attended the emergency department in Charles Gairdner Hospital recently with what I thought was a kidney complaint.
Even though the department was extremely busy I was seen to quite quickly and examined by a Dr Mike?
After several tests the cause of the extreme pain I was receiving appeared to be a mystery, but at no time did I feel that I was wasting their time.
I was transferred to the observation ward by a lovely young lady called Sunshine and carefully dealt with by nurse Ben, Dr Pete and Dr Colm to try and solve the concern. Even a CT scan carried out by another very caring staff member who's name I can't remember.
I then was kept overnight so the pain could be monitored in Ward G62 and had wonderful care from nurses Justine and Erin. Then Dr Steve came to examine me in the morning and noticed that a rash had developed and diagnosed Shingles! Before I was discharged with medication and comprehensive instructions about how to deal with Shingles. I was also visited by a lady called Mandy to share her experience of having shingles which was very comforting.
