I was recently walking in the front door of Frank Pendergast House to visit my father and a funeral director with a wrapped body went right past me I had to make room for them to pass.
I found this extremely distressing and immediately broke down. I think it is ridiculous that this process is done unaccompanied by a staff member and without taking care to make sure there is no one coming in at that time. A staff member could have been outside asking visitors to wait or alternatively another exit/entrance could have been used.
The last thing you want to see when going to visit your dying father is a body being wheeled out. I have never seen a body before and this was very very upsetting. Thank goodness my husband was with me to console me.
"Very upsetting experience"
