About: Fitzroy Crossing Hospital

(as the patient),

I had bad stomach cramps and was in a lot of pain.

* The staff were good and attentive

* The emergency care was good

* I received prompt attention

However, I wasn't given:

* An adequate explanation

* A referral to my GP 

* Or an explanation for follow-up care

Dear Wanti,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at Fitzroy Crossing Hospital and I do apologise for not responding to you earlier. Your comments both positive and negative are welcome, as the staff love to hear when things go well and equally we like to know when outcomes are not optimal as this give us an opportunity to improve our services.

There are times when the staff are busy and forget that they may not have explained things as clearly as is needed or provided follow-up where required. Would it be possible for you to contact me so that I am able to assist you receive a referral or other information for your GP. Please call me on 08) 9193 3275 or via email Derby.OperationsManager@health.wa.gov.au so that I can have your file viewed by the Senior Medical Officer who will arrange for information to be sent to you and your GP as is needed. Alternatively you may wish to contact the hospital direct and speak to the Director of Nursing who also is able to arrange this. The contact number for the hospital is 08) 9166 1777 or via email Fitzroy.DirectorofNursing@health.wa.gov.au.
