Fiona Stanley Hospital, at the beginning of the year in the very early hours of the morning.
I was incredibly surprised (and upset) when a nurse decided to come up behind me (while I was in labour) and push a syringe into the back of my leg. I have no idea what it was, however intended on a natural birth - the nurse who did it did not tell me what her intentions were, or even ask me if it was okay (to which I would have said no, if I'd been given the chance). I am writing this as it has been on my mind a lot since then, and my emotional health has suffered. I would like it if the staff at Fiona Stanley could be trained to listen to the patient, and allow for the patient to make decisions instead of doing whatever suits them.
