"Care of my mother"

About: Royal Perth Hospital / Acute Assessment & Medical Ward 5B & Surgical Ward 5E

(as a staff member posting for a carer/relative),

I am a staff member at RPH & my Mum was admitted to ACU/AMU (Acute Care Unit / Acute Medical Unit) for 2 nights. It was very stressful for the family trying to make the best decisions for her to improve her health, so we can get her back into her own home. ACU is such a busy ward, but all the staff were amazing. They were so gentle and caring  with my mum. When the decision to transfer her to SJOG Mt Lawley, Jinesh (Clinical Nurse Specialist on ACU) and Ajith (Discharge Coordinator) stepped in and were both fabulous. They were so efficient, knowledgeable & great at communicating with everyone, including the family. Thank you so much, all of you who looked after her - nurses, doctors, personal care assistants & assistants in nursing!  You are all amazing!!!

Dear "monceroszq29",

Many thanks for taking time to post regarding your mother’s positive experience in our hospital. We appreciate coming to hospital urgently is extremely stressful and frightening for patients and families, and am very pleased to hear our staff were able to reassure you with their care.

Our AMU is an extremely busy unit and you will have seen how hard our staff work. We are very proud of their commitment to work as a team to provide what’s best for our patients and I will ensure your positive comments are passed on to them.
I hope your mother is making a speedy recovery.
