"Stroke - Grey Nomads - Carnarvon"

About: Carnarvon Hospital

(as a relative),

My mother and father were caravaning around Australia and when in Carnarvon WA my mother suffered a stroke. Being from Geelong VIC they couldn't have been further away from family and friends. Fortunately for all of us, the wonderful care she received in Carnarvon saved her life. I'd personally like to thank all the doctors, nurses, paramedics and medical staff that assisted in caring for her and returning her home safe and sound.

She has a lot of physio and exercises to do to make a full recovery, but thanks to the speedy assistance they received in Carnarvon the doctors are confident she can return back to a normal lifestyle.

Dear Sheeds29,

Thank you for taking the time to share your mum's experience with us on Patient Opinion. I am sorry to hear that your mother fell so ill while travelling, it can be a very stressful experience when you are so far away from home and loved ones. I was so pleased to read that your mum was so well looked after by our staff at Carnarvon Hospital. Tamara our Operations Manager in the Gascoyne, has passed your kind words and thanks on to the team at Carnarvon Hospital and recognising them for the wonderful work they do every day.

I do hope your mum is doing well, I wish her the very best for her recovery and hope that she will have an opportunity to get back to Carnarvon one day.

Warm Regards,

Michele
