We came over from England as a family of 5 stopping at India and Vietnam on our way. Our youngest, in their early teens, managed to have a sickness bug early on our trip but felt unwell on and off for the next two weeks. We got to Sydney with just a 3-night stay and was advised to take them to see a doctor which we thought would mean spending hours at the hospital waiting to see someone. We were so pleased and lucky with the service we received when we arrived at Sydney Hospital. Our teenager's details were taken and they were seen by Nurse Cathy straight away. My child was taken to a bed and Dr Diane gave them a thorough check-up. Both made my child feel very welcome and reassured us that it was a form of a stomach bug and nothing more sinister. It is normal for us all to feel worried when a family member gets sick on holiday, and we couldn't have had a better treatment anywhere else. Our country has many overseas patients visit and some take it for granted, I just wanted to write this to say that we are very grateful and won't forget it.
