Recently during dealing with the Family Resources Centre of Bass Coast Health I was astounded and quite frankly disgusted by the code of conduct of the staff that I dealt with on the day.
They were very rude and inconsiderate to my situation, and I believe they displayed none of the traits which should be a prerequisite for working in this area and helping people who are in need.
There was, in my opinion, a serious breach of client confidentiality by the receptionists having access to and reading my confidential files (which I had previously signed a declaration against this sort of action) and the counsellor was very rude in the way they spoke to me and in the manner they asked questions.
I went to this service for help in a time of need and I left feeling like I had just been interrogated.
The staff in question need to be reminded of the serious nature of the work they are meant to be doing and the legal code of conduct surrounding this type of work.
I believe that there was no concern for my mental state and they seemed upset that I had even contacted them.
