I approached Bunbury Regional Hospital around 8:30am recently with my baby that had a staph infection, as confirmed that same day almost 12 hours later by a General Practitioner.
As I was told by the ED doctors (3 in total) that it wasn’t anything to worry about, to continue with the antibiotic cream I had been using which clearly wasn’t helping and told they hadn’t seen a viral infection like this before. As a first time mum, I’m usually hesitant on what I consider hospital worthy and I had done my research before taking my baby in to be treated, as if what I was saying was stupid and not of any similarity to what was on my baby's leg made me rethink about whether or not to take her there again which resulted in going to an after hours GP.I have since returned to the ED as my toddler’s infection worsened and they still treated me the same until their child Pead came down and said otherwise. I’m very appalled at the way this hospital is going at the moment.
