I have been unwell for the past 4 weeks, a visit to the GP and ED and copious antibiotics, I couldn't shake my illness. I returned to the hospital 4 days after my last lot of antibiotics with the same symptoms and spoke to the general surgeon - Tamaris. She was very receptive and very concerned. She ordered tests and followed up promptly. Within 24 hours of thorough investigations and her quick wit (liaising with specialists in Perth) - I was sent to Perth immediately for treatment.

Tamaris saved me from extensive surgery and a possible RFDS flight had she not been the super doctor she is. I am very grateful for having Dr Tamaris treat me. She is an asset to Broome Hospital and her investigative and empathy to patients should be commended. I hold her in the highest regard.

I do hope you are on the mend and feeling much better after this long illness. Thank you for taking time to share what you went through and experienced when your healthcare was in our hands in Broome Hospital.

So as line manager for our surgeons I was delighted to read that the care you received from Tamaris was empathetic, timely and diagnostically quick-witted.

From what you share, she certainly saved you from deterioration, surgery and all the associated risks to your health from complications. Very well done, Tamaris!

I will pass your gratitude and commendation on to her.
