"Appointment wait times and parking"

About: Box Hill Hospital

(as the patient),

My spouse and I are not happy that the appointment we made was at 10am. We got to the Box Hill specialist clinic at 9.30am only to finally get in to see the specialist at 11.30am. If they are going to take so long, there should be free public parking. We thought we did the right thing, paid for parking and got a fine because it was a resident only park!

Dear Not happy to pay for parking

Thank you so very much for taking the time to share feedback on your experience attending a specialist clinic at Box Hill Hospital.

I'd like to apologise firstly that the time you saw the specialist was much later than your scheduled time and also that you received a fine for parking in a resident only park.

If your payment was on the Box Hill Hospital site, I would encourage you to make contact with the Eastern Health Centre for Patient Experience on 1800 EASTERN or email feedback@easternhealth.org.au so we can review.

In regards to your appointment time, we have been implementing many changes in specialist clinics, but it is clearly evident we have many more improvements to make. I can assure you we take your experience very seriously and will be working to improve the experience for all patients and families who attend Specialist Clinics.

Many thanks again and kind regards

David

Dear Not happy to pay for parking

Thank you again for sharing feedback on your experience and apologies again it was not an ideal one.

I wanted to let you know that your feedback has been taken seriously and that we have commenced an improvement project to improve the patient and family experience when attending Specialist Clinics. We expect this will be detailed work that will extend across the coming year, but if you would like to be involved, we would welcome your participation in whatever fashion you could accommodate.

If you would like to find out more, please contact my office on 9895 3259 and we can direct you to the most appropriate person.

Thank you again and kind regards

David

Update posted by Not happy to pay for parking (the patient)

Hi David

Thank you it is great that you have taken my opinion seriously. It can be very stressful going to specialist appointments and having to leave the patient to move the car or top up the parking metre and I saw a dad having to leave his young child to do that at our last visit. Hopefully our upcoming visit will be better as it is early in the morning.
