My report is to thank your team members. I have been in 9 mental health hospitals in Western Australia.

I have seen many a psychologist and never opened up to tell my story because I felt that all of them could not and did not relate or respond to anything I was about. However, Carnarvon has been the only one ever - run so well. I have found this is due to the lovely health worker Trina. For the first time I have found someone who cares and cares. She has done her duties with the utmost professional service and help, and also her assistant nurse Brooke. I've watched her work beyond her duties in times when her shift has long finished. And I am at times really hard to deal with, I know that. She needs credit for her utmost professional help. Because mental health has been so scary for me. She nailed it. Thanks to her kind and listening nature. What a gem she has been. For the first time, I will allow a mental health service to work with me. Thank you so very much. God bless you all.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on Patient Opinion. I was saddened to read of your personal journey and that you have felt that you have not been able to open up and share your story. I was so pleased to read of your positive experience with our Mental Health team at Carnarvon and that your dealings with Trina had helped to make your experience a little less scary.

I have had the opportunity to work with Trina a number of years ago and recently caught up with her on a visit to Carnarvon and I to agree that Trina is a consummate professional who is kind, compassionate and caring. I know our staff strive to uphold our core value of compassion and its stories like yours that allow our staff to hear about the effect they have on a person's health care experience.

I will take great pleasure in ensuring your compliment is passed on to the team in Carnarvon with a special mention to Brooke and an extra special mention to Trina.
