Over two years ago, after my caesarean, I was wheeled into ICU where I was closely monitored as I had pre-eclampsia. During this time, while I was sleeping, a male who I believe wasn’t a nurse, he was one of the people who deliver food and empty the bins, accompanied by a female nurse came into my room. They proceeded to strip me and wash my naked body down without my permission. I was not asked if this is what I wanted. I’d showered that morning and would’ve been able to shower myself the next day. My partner sat on a chair in the corner and we met each other’s eyes. His eyes were wide in shock, just like mine. To this day I am disgusted and feel physically sick and angry when I think about it.
