"Pathology waiting times"

About: Maroondah Hospital

(as the patient),

This issue isn't a rare occurrence.

I arrived before 8am, as do other patients.

I was third in the queue.

Then nursing staff walk in, jump the queue causing patients in the queue with tickets to have to wait longer.

I was finally seen at 9:50am. My blood tests are required before 8:30am due to medications. I know I'm not the only patient with this requirement.

I am wondering why medical staff can't be seen before public pathology hours or in a pre-arranged room for a period of time on certain mornings?

Dear Frustrated and waiting 001

Thank you so much for sharing feedback regarding your experience on Patient Opinion. I would like to apologise that this has been your experience and can clearly see we need to review what is happening to provide a better experience for all.

Your comments and suggestions are really important to me so I will forward your feedback to the Program Director for Pathology services to provide first-hand experience to support the Pathology leadership team to review and see what changes can be implemented.

Thank you again Frustrated and waiting 001 and I wish you the very best.

Kind regards

David
