"Staff, care, and call bells"

About: Geraldton Hospital

(as a relative),

My elderly mum has been at Geraldton Hospital recently. I just wanted to say how impressed we are with the care my mother has received as well as how wonderful the staff are.

There is only one small thing that I almost hesitate to mention, whereby the call bells ring 24 hours a day. The staff have said they can’t notice it, which I can understand given they hear it constantly every day, although if that is the case you have to wonder what the point is. However, for others that are not in this environment every day, it is very disruptive and makes it difficult for my mother, and other patients, to get the rest they need. I’m sure we can come up with a better solution.

That said, we really are grateful that staff, and the care my mother has received, have been exceptional.

In regards to the call bell system, the team at the Geraldton Hospital have been exploring options to improve this system including potential funding sources.
