"My father's care"

About: Bupa Wodonga

(as a relative),

In my opinion, my father is very poorly cared for.

My mother has to go and help feed him almost every day, if she doesn’t we don’t know if he gets food.

I believe they try to drug him up any chance they can, leave him sitting in wet pants for hours at a time and it seems the carers take off and leave only 1 person to sit with and feed a room full of people and look after them at meal times.

I’m extremely unhappy with this facility.

The following response has been submitted on behalf of Katrina Gunnett, General Manager Bupa Wodonga.

Dear novemberkj54,

Please know that nothing is more important to us than the health and care of our residents. With that in mind, we are concerned by the feedback you have provided and would appreciate if you could contact us directly via info@bupacare.com.au or 02 6058 2100 so that myself and a member of our clinical care team can get in touch to discuss your experience.

We take feedback from our residents and their families very seriously and are committed to resolving issues identified within our care homes that do not reflect our care standards.

Thank you,
Katrina Gunnett, General Manager Bupa Wodonga

Thanks for your reply Katrina,

Family members have previously had meetings with your organisation to discuss my Father's Care, and are organising more currently.

It's rather upsetting that his care improves for a time after we complain, but then slowly slips backwards after a while (as if we would forget!)

We don't forget, and we don't enjoy seeing him and other patients treated this way!

This is why I am making my complaint public, as it appears the repeated lack of compassion from a company that advertises as leading in dementia care is deeply distressing to me and my family.
