"Visiting Box Hill Emergency"

About: Box Hill Hospital

(as the patient),

I hurt my wrist. I came to emergency and it was extremely busy. More staff are required for the night shift. I arrived at 1. 30am and by 7am a doctor still hadn't seen me. The wait time should not have to be this long. It puts pressure on staff and frustrates patients. I must say Mat the nurse was fantastic running around trying to make sure we were all aware that we have not been forgotten.

Dear warmpq44

Thank you so much for taking the time to share feedback regarding your experience when attending the Emergency Department at Box Hill Hospital.

I'd like to apologise for the long period you waited overnight to be seen by the staff, but pleased to hear that Matt did his best to make your experience a more positive one.

The Emergency Department has been particularly busy over the past month and while there have been some busier nights than others, it is clear the night you attended, this was a particularly busy one and therefore longer waiting times.

I trust your wrist has been reviewed and treated as needed and you are well on the way to recovery / resuming normal activities.

Kind regards

David
