"Being put last in the queue"

About: Sydney / Sydney Eye Hospital

(as the patient),

Second experience here of the same thing. Waiting to see a doctor, I see people who arrive after me, be seen before me. They aren't in distress or kids. No reason for this that I can see. I am polite and patient. Cause no issue. Person who came just before me long seen and gone. Waiting 2 hours. In my opinion this is a racist policy?

Dear Frustrated patient3018

Thank you for your feedback. I apologise that you waited longer to see a doctor than you expected. In the Emergency Department patients are triaged and seen by doctors depending on their clinical needs. I appreciate that this can often be difficult to understand when others appear to be treated before you and will remind the staff in the Emergency Department of the importance of communicating this to patients whilst they are waiting. Staff are required to treat all patients based on their clinical conditions as apposed to any other factor such as race.

I trust you are feeling better now.

Kind regards

Jennie
