"A heartfelt thank-you to Chelsea Manor."

About: BlueCross Chelsea Manor

(as a relative),

Dear Julie (Manager, Chelsea Manor),

We've been very busy since my mother-in-law sadly passed away, so this is the first opportunity I’ve had to write a very special thank you to yourself and to your amazing team at Chelsea Manor.

It’s hard to know where to start....

So firstly, I would like to express the family’s deep gratitude to you and to everyone at Chelsea Manor for taking such great care of our loved one during her time there.

I can’t tell you how impressed we are with the quality of care, the sensitivity, kindness and respect shown to our dear loved one and to our family at all times during her stay, but especially during the more recent period when it became clear that she was not going to stage another of her miraculous comebacks.

The attention to detail, the thoughtfulness and the many small (and not so small) kindnesses shown to us by all of your wonderful team meant so much to us all and was a great comfort to our loved one and to ourselves.

I’d like to make special mention of many of your team-members, but I’m worried that I’ll inadvertently leave someone out, so I’ll just name a few. Gordana and the nursing staff were absolutely exceptional in their care of my mother-in-law and also in caring for us and keeping us informed at all times. We can’t thank them enough. And if I could just add that Gordana herself was so wonderful in co-ordinating our loved one’s care, stepping into your shoes when you were away, and looking after us all. She is definitely a keeper!

Julie on reception is a breath of fresh air and so kind, caring and thoughtful. Her smile and her laugh would never fail to lift our spirits.

The lifestyle, kitchen, cleaning, laundry and maintenance staff were all so kind, thoughtful and caring. Many thanks to them all.

But I’d like to make special mention of the personal carers who really were the front line in the care of our loved family member. Their job is such a difficult one....physically demanding, often unpleasant, challenging and perhaps not given the recognition it deserves. I witnessed first hand how difficult this job is, especially in the final weeks when our loved one required ‘intensive’ care. This job was always carried out to the highest standards, showing our loved one the utmost care and respect, and preserving her personal dignity at all times. This care, sensitivity and kindness was also shown to ourselves. It was truly exceptional and we are deeply grateful.

So, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you all so much for helping us get through an incredibly difficult time. You, and everyone at Chelsea Manor deserve the highest praise for making our dear loved one’s time in residential care as best as it could possibly be.

Please pass on my thanks and gratitude to everyone at “The Manor”.

Yours sincerely,

Care and Miracles and family.

Dear Care and miracles,

Thank you for providing this wonderful feedback. The Chelsea Manor Team were glad they could support your mother-in-law in both periods of her care, the "miraculous" phase but also the palliative phase of her care. I have shared your feedback with Julie and her team. The team really appreciate your kindness in providing your feedback post your family's loss. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

Yours sincerely

Jodie Jones
